Full job description
Join a leading AI lab's cutting-edge GenAI team to be at the core of the AI revolution, where your expertise fuels the development of the most advanced generative AI models.
1. Overview
Join a leading AI lab's cutting-edge GenAI team and help build foundational AI models from the ground up. We're seeking a talented Architectural and Interior Visualization Specialist, an architect or senior ArchViz artist who produces both drawing sets and photoreal renders, with deep, hands-on design and visualization experience to bring real spatial and construction judgment and elevate the quality of our AI training data. This is a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.
This is a W-2 employment position with Cincinnatus LLC, with the opportunity to be placed at a leading AI Lab as part of their extended workforce.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Guide research teams to close knowledge gaps and improve AI model performance in architectural and interior design and visualization.
- Design challenging, real-world architecture and interior tasks, and produce reference deliverables such as AutoCAD plan sets, SketchUp or Revit models, photoreal renders and material boards.
- Evaluate AI-generated plans, sections, elevations and renders and give clear, written feedback, catching problems with spatial logic, clearances, code compliance, scale, materials and lighting.
- Develop guidelines, rubrics and quality checks for architectural drawings and visualization, including checks on plan geometry and drawing sets.
- Collaborate with other subject matter experts to ensure consistency and accuracy in training data.
3. Core Qualifications
- 5+ years of shipped professional work as an architect, architectural designer, interior designer or ArchViz artist at an architecture or interiors firm, a visualization studio or a design-build practice (for example Gensler, HOK, Perkins&Will, SOM, AECOM, HKS, Olson Kundig, Rockwell Group, Mir, Brick Visual, DBOX, Luxigon, Hayes Davidson, The Boundary, Kilograph or a boutique residential studio). Crowd rating, data labeling and student work do not count.
- Authorship of full drawing sets: plans, sections, elevations, reflected ceiling plans and details at working scales (1:20, 1:50, 1/4"=1'-0"), produced in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp with LayOut, ArchiCAD or Rhino, including at least one permit or construction document set you owned.
- Professional-grade rendering of interiors and exteriors, including twilight and daylight scenes, with V-Ray, Corona, Blender Cycles, Enscape, Lumion, Twinmotion, D5 or Unreal Engine, and the ability to build a material and finish board with named products.
- Fluency with editable source files in .dwg, .rvt, .skp, .3dm, .pln, .max or .blend, delivering layered files that another professional can open and continue.
- Working knowledge of building codes and accessibility standards applied in your own projects (for example IBC, IRC, ADA Standards, NFPA 101, state or city codes such as CBC Title 24 or the NYC Building Code) and the ability to explain why a plan does or does not comply.
- A licence or certification is strongly preferred: Registered Architect in a US state, NCARB certificate, NCIDQ, or AIA membership with AXP complete.
- Hands-on working use of generative AI tools in professional design or visualization work, for example Midjourney, Stable Diffusion with ControlNet, Veras, Krea, Adobe Firefly or Magnific, including image-to-image and sketch-to-render workflows, and the judgment to tell a strong result from a plausible-looking weak one.
- A public portfolio or reel of shipped work; you will be asked to walk through it.
- Ability to engage reliably for at least 40 hours/week during weekdays.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to explain creative decisions clearly.
